Bellarmine Chatunga Mugabe, son of the late former President Robert Mugabe, was arrested along with four others in connection with the alleged assault of a Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) investigator in Harare.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirmed that Mugabe, 29, was arrested with Munashe Mubawu (43), Terrence Johannes Chinyemba (42), Fredson Peter (33), and Solomon Pamire (34).

The five were arrested following an incident at Brompton Guest Lodge in Highlands, Harare, on November 3 at around 6:30 pm.

The alleged assault occurred during a ZACC operation to seize a Lamborghini Urus and a Mercedes-Benz suspected of being illegally imported into the country.

ZACC spokesperson Simiso Mlevu said one of the commission’s officials was assaulted during the operation, adding that the matter had been reported to police.

In a statement issued Wednesday, police said the five suspects would appear in court Thursday, November 5, 2026.

Police spokesman Commissioner Paul Nyathi said further details would be released in due course.
