MASVINGO — Police in Masvingo have arrested two men in connection with stock theft following the recovery of 22 stolen cattle in the Malipati area.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) said the arrests were made at about 4.10 am on 17 September 2026 by members of the Support Unit who were conducting a motorised patrol in Chikombedzi.
Acting on information received, police intercepted a 30-tonne Koala truck in the Malipati area and arrested Reason Chitemela, 46, and Collin Mbirimi, 52, leading to the recovery of the 22 cattle.
Police have not disclosed the circumstances surrounding the alleged theft or where the cattle were being taken.
Investigations into the case are ongoing.
The ZRP urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspected criminal activity to the police.
