Vice President Constantino Chiwenga has dropped a bombshell, delivering his most brutal attack yet on President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s government!
In a speech at the 23rd National People’s Conference in Chinhoyi, the retired General warned that power-crazy individuals want to hijack the party!
“Our party belongs to the people, never to individuals,” Chiwenga thundered.
Taking direct aim at the ED2030 push and the controversial Constitution Amendment No.3, Chiwenga said change cannot be forced down people’s throats!
“While change is inevitable it must be orderly.
“In our party structures and guided by our constitution.
“Change must be driven by the people and not imposed from above,” he said.
And in a stinging reminder to ED himself, Chiwenga threw Mnangagwa’s own slogan back at him!
“You may recall your excellence that the voice of the people is the voice of God.
“As such we must remain true to that promise and carry with us the voice of the people,” he said.
Chiwenga blasted the growing “Mazvake-mazvake” politics and selfish leaders chasing personal glory!
“Discipline, accountability and selfless service must define our trajectory superseding disjointed and individualistic approaches,” he charged.
He then invoked Chairman Mao to hammer his point home:
“Chairman Mao said, ‘individual desires and private virtues are meaningless outside their relationship to the collective”.
He then delivered a hammer blow.
“Mazvake mazvake ahana kwaanotisvitsa.”
It was clear to all that the gloves are officially off!
