Three people, including the driver of a Nissan AD van, were killed while five others sustained serious injuries in a road traffic accident along the Harare–Bulawayo Road near Kadoma on Saturday.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) said the accident occurred at around 3 pm on October 17, 2026, at the 128-kilometre peg.

The accident involved a Nissan AD van carrying seven passengers and travelling towards Harare and a Scania truck travelling in the opposite direction.

The two vehicles sideswiped, resulting in the fatal collision.

Police said three occupants of the Nissan AD van, including the driver, died at the scene, while five others sustained serious injuries.

The bodies of the deceased were taken to Kadoma General Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examinations, while the injured were transported to the same hospital for medical treatment.
