David Masomere, the Masvingo-based Physical Education teacher at Ndarama High School popularly known as a ZANU PF DJ, was involved in a road accident last night after hitting a stray cow while driving from Harare.

Masomere was travelling along the Harare-Masvingo highway when his vehicle collided with the animal.

The impact left him injured and his vehicle extensively damaged.

He was rushed to a local hospital where he is currently admitted.

Sources say he is in a stable condition.

Controversial Figure

Masomere is a well-known political entertainer, famed for his role as DJ at ZANU PF rallies and party functions.

He is currently embroiled in a legal battle at the High Court, where he is facing allegations of absconding from duty at Ndarama High School to focus on party activities.

The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education is seeking his accountability for allegedly failing to attend lessons.

The accident comes at a time when the issue of stray livestock on Zimbabwe’s major highways remains a serious hazard, with numerous fatal accidents recorded each year.

Police are yet to issue an official statement on the accident.
