HARARE – Harare Regional Magistrate Musaiona Shortgame has found Mary Mubaiwa not guilty of attempting to kill Vice-President Constantino Chiwenga by allegedly disconnecting his life-support system while he was hospitalised in South Africa.

The acquittal follows a state application to postpone the trial to November 25 to allow the prosecution more time to engage witnesses.

In his ruling, Shortgame said Mubaiwa had suffered mental, physical and financial prejudice during the proceedings, which have dragged on for nearly seven years.
